Like A Sheep Led To Slaughter
When we stand for something we believe in, and step out in faith to make a difference in our community, we can certainly expect to face a level of resistance. It could be a new business idea or something to help the planet, but we are facing new challenges and endeavors. And opposition comes to those who believe in something, mostly in the form of criticism to challenge us. We may notice a struggle to accomplish certain tasks when working with others. Following a dream or vision can be lonely. There are times we may feel like sheep led to slaughter. Mostly because others do not see what we see. Additionally, when the vision includes being in the public eye, and putting yourself out there, it takes plenty of courage to overcome the naysayers. There are times we may feel exposed, and ineffectual. But these are natural feelings that we need to walk through and overcome. Getting to the goal and the prize of a vision realized, means facing the world head on. There are times it may be taxing with all of our imperfections. Especially when it appears you do not have people rooting for you. Again, we may feel like a sheep led to slaughter. But we must not be hindered. Instead, we must bravely keep walking through the resistance to get to the other side. It's important to recognize the path is not straightforward. It would be easier to avoid it all together! However, when we understand that these challenges will come, we are better equipped to see matters as a sure sign that we are purposefully headed in the right direction. There is nothing that we must go through, that Jesus did not already go through as our example. And when we are walking a distinct path, it can feel very lonely. Much like going against the grain. However, once we face these difficult feelings, we come through to the other side to where the blessings show themselves strong. There is no gain without a level of pain. And no one ever said it would be easy. So pray, stand strong and walk on! You can do it.
